Ohio Issue 1 November 2024 Ballot Language. Issue 1 would eliminate the ohio redistricting commission, made up of the governor, auditor, secretary of state and four state lawmakers — two from each party. On august 28, 2023, ohioans united for reproductive rights filed a lawsuit with the ohio supreme court to challenge the ballot language that was adopted by the ohio.

A vote for issue 1 is a vote to change how our voting districts are drawn in the state of ohio by taking politicians out of the process. The ohio supreme court has let stand ballot language that will describe this fall’s issue 1 as requiring gerrymandering, when the proposal is intended to do the opposite.
